Why I started this...

Hey there friend,

It’s pretty rad you’re here, first off. I started Milk Truck Mail as part of a quest to bring back some of the best things in life we accidentally left behind. Each month, you receive an entertaining letter written by a human and some other analog artifacts.

There will never be a QR code.

There won't be thought leadership. It won't ever use the word 'synergy'. It will be about a topic that I, personally, need to hear right now.

Why am I doing this?

Because technology is incredible. Amazing.

But I also think we've probably automated enough for today.

Life wasn't meant to be lived in a constant state of optimization with a lingering feeling that you’re falling behind. It doesn't feel good and it's also not true. It's like a little bit of our soul leaves our body forever with each new prompt.

Analog experiences are going to help us not feel so existentially tired all of the time.

My hope is that this can play a small part in allowing us to pump the brakes a little.

It might make you laugh. Or it might say something you feel deeply. If we're lucky, maybe it will do both at the same time.

It costs basically the price of a cup of coffee in this inflationary economy.

Frequently asked questions

When will I get my Milk Truck Mail?

Mail will be sent on the 15th of every month. Maybe the 16th. Possibly the 14th if I’m feeling super ambitious. 

Mail is sent via the US Postal Service with a stamp, so you won’t get a tracking number. That’s part of the fun.

If you’re in the US, you’ll typically receive your goods in 3-14 days from sending. If you’re outside the US, you’ll receive it in 2-6 weeks. 

If you sign up before the 10th of the month, you’ll receive that month’s letter. If you sign up after the 10th, you’ll receive the next month’s letter to start. 

We’re dealing with the USPS here, which is an incredible service, but also not exactly modeled after the Chick-fil-A drive-through experience…so give it some time.

What's the letter like?

It's written by me, Alex, about a random topic of choice. It's designed by hand in a little zine-type format. There's some custom artwork and illustrations in there.

The content tends to range about life, work, fatherhood, relationships, personal reflections, old stuff, new stuff, and Bigfoot.

A lot is commentary that I need to hear, personally.

Imagine going on Linkedin and reading AI generated life advice from that former co-worker who kind of sucks. It'll be the exact opposite of that.

What if my order doesn’t show up?

Shoot. Mail gets lost sometimes. If yours does, I’d be glad to send you a replacement.

Oh yeah. If you live in a country that accepts mail with a USPS stamp, we can get it there. International orders include a $4 USD additional shipping fee.

How do I cancel my membership?

Easy peasy. 

  • Login to your member portal by clicking the icon in the top right corner
  • Select “Manage Subscription”
  • Select “Pause” if you just need some time off or “Cancel” if you want to fully unsubscribe
